What is e-Learning?
A primary mission of Clarion Word Publishing is teaching God's Word. What better way in this age of the Internet than by the methods employed in e-Learning? What is e-Learning, you say?
E-Learning is the collaboration of networked computers for the purpose of teaching knowledge and skills. Other names have been used: computer-based training (CBT), Web-based training (WBT) and Internet-based training. Generally, e-Learning refers to the use of computer applications to facilitate and enhance the learning process. E-Learning courses may be self-paced or instructor led and may include media in the form of text, images, animation, streaming video and/or audio.
It is our belief that the most effective teaching is not simply providing information the student needs, but motivating a change in behavior based on the student learning new knowledge and the skills to use it. The emphasis should be on learning, not on teaching. E-Learnng is capable of providing that kind of learning environment, although not all e-Learning courses reach that level of effectiveness. It is a matter of course design.
Clarion Word Publishing's first e-Learning offerings are now available. One is an interactive online version of Sewell Hall's popular and effective correspondence course, Jesus Christ is the Way.
